Melbpack is pleased to announce we can now supply compostable “plastic”. This is compostable material is derived from corn starch, and is not LDPE.

The raw material for our compostable option is certified to AS 4736 (industrial compost) standards which means when disposed in an industrial compost facility, it will compost within 12 weeks. AS 4736 also includes the worm toxicity test.

The compostable resin we use is certified compostable in industrial composting facilities (AS 4736) for film and bag applications up to 192 microns.

Natural colour is a very light transparent brown / beige.

Limitations

As this product is produced from  corn starch, they essentially comprise of organic materials and therefore, have a shelf life. To ensure maximum longevity, the product should be stored in a cool, dry place. When stored correctly, they will retain its strength to last for 6 – 8 months.

If printing is required, it should be a minimal as possible
