We’ve gathered up a whole lot of info for you about the  Biofill loose fill packaging peanuts. You can find our biofilL product page here and many more of our void fill products or machines here

In the past Biofill was made from expanded polystyrene foam, however in Australia in the 2000’s Biofill corn starch based loose fill become the preferred solution for most businesses, with production of polystyrene loose fill ceasing production.

The starch based biofill comes from crop sources such as corn starch. its non toxic and biodegradable. Its safe to eat for humans, but we do not recommend it. the Biofill is made on the same sort of machine that makes Cheetos. However the biofil is not made to food standards, its also had its sugars removed so it does not attract rodents and bugs.

Biofill is Home composable

The best thing about biofill is that its home compostable. Home compostable means that the material will degrade in a compost bin fully with no additive within 180 days.

This is my setup from home. 2 are pretty new and the other i just moved from the other side of my house. As I want to have all the compost and vegetable gardens on the same side of the property.
Ive put some biofill in one of these to record the results at home rather than lab conditions.

These are mostly filled with long grass and weeds from when i cleared it out form this side of the house. with some soil ontop.

Day 1 – adding the biofill

Further days and weeks will be added soon, now mind you if i sprayed these with water, they will pretty much degrade instantly. but lets so lets see how they fair without outside intervention.
