The Atlanta Stretch Pallet wrappers imported by Melbpack can be upgraded with a Stretch film slitter. A slitter is useful for those who want to get away from using vented or knitted film while still allowing products to breath.

The film slitter is a much cheaper alternative to knitted film, vented film or custom film for the purpose of creating breathing, simply use regular machine wrap and slit it yourself.

The film slitter is a proven design, built by ATLANTA STRETCH in Italy, known for their robust yet simple design, reducing maintenance requirements

Watch as our stretch film slitter cuts with smooth lines & the final roller reduces friction on the film allowing for clean dispensing of the film without fraying. The edges of the film are rolled to produce clean strips.

Advantages:

• Uses regular machine film
• Cutting can be enabled or disabled to wrap regularly.
• Cutting can be enabled or disabled at top of cycle.

Programing options for Cutter:

F54 – Enabling of strip film cutting
F55 = Blade activation delay when starting. 0-30 seconds
F56 = Blade activation delay at the beginning of the carriage descent
F57 = Enabling of strip film cutting even in top wraps.
F58 = Blade deactivation delay

Why would I want a film slitter?
To use regular machine wrap to allow products to breath or allow better airflow when freezing, its a much more cost effective alternative than the use of knitted, vented or other specialized film.

Can I still use the machine without the slitter?
Yes you can, the slitter can be enabled or disabled. so no need to change rolls.

How much ventilated or airflow will this allow?
That depends on your wrapping settings, the Stretch film slitter is only available on prestretch wrapping machines, all of which have various options for changing the amount of wrapping applied to each load. by changing carriage assent speed, top and bottom wraps, middle wrapping height and amount of middle wraps or our best option, step assent mode and revolutions per step. eg we can do 1-9 revolutions every 50-100mm creating banding reinforcements throughout the load where the strips overrun each other.

Do you need to order a machine with this, What is the wait time?
Not at all, Atlanta machines are modular, we can order this attachment to place an an existing ATLANTA STRETCH machine or place it on any of our stock machines, highly increasing the turn around on the availability of the stretch film slitter option.

How many slits does the film slitter do?
We have options for 3, 4 or 5 strips.

What about wearing parts for this? Do I need to replace blades?
Yes the blades will wear out, however Atlanta’s designs always incorporate available and common parts, the strip cutter takes blades you would find in warehouse utility knifes.

Is this film slitter attachment available on Other models?
Yes it is, here it is running 3 blade, 4 strips on a Mytho PS with an arm. It is also available on the Synthesi OPS.
